If you’re dreaming of beautiful clear waters, powdery white sand, and total relaxation, Anguilla is calling. It’s truly one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway or a beach-hopping adventure with friends, this is the perfect destination. Here are our top recommendations to help you plan the perfect trip.

Malliouhana

Cap Juluca

Maundays Bay

Malliouhana (Meads Bay)
We loved the island-chic style, with colorful, glam touches at the Malliouhana. The bi-level infinity pool is absolutely stunning—perfect for poolside lounging with easy access to some of our favorite restaurants. We loved having the choice to relax at the pool or head down to Meads Bay beach, just a short walk or quick golf cart shuttle ride to Leon’s.

Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel (Maundays Bay)
Set on what we think is the best beach on the island, this resort is perfect if you’re all about full-service beach days and incredible hospitality. The resort is stretched across Maundays Bay and they offer bikes and golf cart service to get around the property.

Four Seasons (West End)
A luxurious property with unbeatable sunsets and incredible food (don’t skip the sushi at the Sunset Lounge!).

Please note we may make commission off affiliate links (at no further cost to you), but we would never recommend a place we don’t genuinely want to recommend.

Rent a Moke! This colorful little open-air car is the most fun and flexible way to explore the island. While taxis are easy to find, they can be pricey — driving here is simple, and most hotels can arrange Moke delivery right to your hotel. Driving is on the left-hand side of the road in Anguilla. If you’re only renting a Moke for a day, we recommend going with a full-day rental to give yourself plenty of time to explore. Can’t miss stops:

  • West End Arch
  • Sunshine Shack
  • Gwen’s Reggae Bar & Grill
  • Elvis’ Beach Bar

Beach hopping is a must. Visit the beaches at the resorts listed above even if you’re not staying there — many welcome visitors for cocktails or dinner. Our favorite beaches included:

  • Maundays Bay
  • Meads Bay
  • Rendezvous Bay
  • Shoal Bay West
  • Shoal Bay East

Casual & Beachside

Resort Dining

Bring cash (USD is widely accepted) — it’s helpful for tipping and small beach bars.

There are direct flights from Miami to Anguilla (~3 hours), or you can fly into St. Maarten and take a 25-minute ferry to the island. We opted to fly and the Anguilla airport was very easy to navigate. We cleared customs and had our bags within 30 minutes of landing.

Let us know if you have any questions in the comments. Happy planning!
